Taking Better Sports Pictures

Through the years, I’ve taught many classes for aspiring sports photographers. While there is tremendous benefit to in-person education, online learning offer certain real-world advantages. For awhile, I posted transcripts of my classes on this site. But with the exception of the class on cross-country photography, most of these have been – to use a sporting term – “lapped” by higher quality, sport-specific content on YouTube.

My goal is to save you a lot of time by linking to the best photography content on the web related to specific sports. Alas, there are still some mainstream sports that are not covered - or at least well covered - in educational video. Bowling, gymnastics, lacrosse and shooting sports come to mind. There are others. In the meantime, these links lead to very helpful primers. We will add to the list below as more high-quality videos become available.
